This view shows the play of the different wood tones throughout the space. The different woods keep the eye moving and draw you into the inviting space. We love the classic Cherner counter stools. The nostalgic pendants create some fun and add sculptural interest. All track lighting was replaced and expanded by cutting through beams to create good task lighting for all kitchen surfaces.
Amos Goldreich Architecture
Amos Goldreich Architecture has completed an asymmetric brick extension that celebrates light and modern life for a young family in North London. The new layout gives the family distinct kitchen, dining and relaxation zones, and views to the large rear garden from numerous angles within the home. The owners wanted to update the property in a way that would maximise the available space and reconnect different areas while leaving them clearly defined. Rather than building the common, open box extension, Amos Goldreich Architecture created distinctly separate yet connected spaces both externally and internally using an asymmetric form united by pale white bricks. Previously the rear plan of the house was divided into a kitchen, dining room and conservatory. The kitchen and dining room were very dark; the kitchen was incredibly narrow and the late 90’
Continues Amos Goldreich, Director of Amos Goldreich Architecture says: “The Framework House was a fantastic project to work on with our clients. We thought carefully about the space planning to ensure we met the brief for distinct zones, while also keeping a connection to the outdoors and others in the space. “The materials of the project also had to marry with the new plan. We chose to keep the interiors fresh, calm, and clean so our clients could adapt their future interior design choices easily without the need to renovate the space again.” Clients, Tom and Jennifer Allen say: “I couldn’t have envisioned having a space like this. It has completely changed the way we live as a family for the better. We are more connected, yet also have our own spaces to work, eat, play, learn and relax.” “The extension has had an impact on the entire house. When our son looks out of his window on the first floor, he sees a beautiful planted roof that merges with the garden.”

The Kitchen Store
SOMETIMES, A CLASSIC DESIGN IS ALL YOU NEED FOR AN OPEN-PLAN SPACE THAT WORKS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. This client wanted to extend their existing space to create an open plan kitchen where the whole family could spend time together. To meet this brief, we used the beautiful Shelford from our British kitchen range, with shaker doors in Inkwell Blue and Light Grey. The stunning kitchen island added the wow factor to this design, where the sink was located and also some beautiful oak shelving to house books and accessories. We used quartz composite worktops in Ice Branco throughout, Blanco sink and taps, and completed the space with AEG built-in and integrated appliances. We also created a functional utility room, which complemented the main kitchen design.

From the architect’s description: «This grand detached period property in Teddington suffered from a lack of connectivity with the rear garden as well as a cramped kitchen and poorly lit living spaces. Replacing the original modest gable end rear extension a collection of new intersecting volumes contain a generous open plan space accommodating a new kitchen, dining area and snug. The existing side return lean-to has also been replaced with a large utility space that boasts full height integrated storage and a new WC. Taking every opportunity to harness natural light from its east facing orientation an assortment of glazing features including a clearstory window, glazed kitchen splashback, glazed corner window and two roof lights have been carefully positioned to ensure every elevation of the new extension is suitably equipped to capture daylight. Careful detailing of the recycled bricks from the old extension with new European Larch cladding provide crisply defined apertures containing new expansive full height minimally-framed sliding doors opening up the rear elevation onto a new raised patio space.»

System Six Kitchens
This kitchen shows off a fantastic L-shaped Kitchen Island, with an area for seating and an integrated sink! The Kitchen Island works as a bridge to the dining area and positions the breakfast bar with a view out of the French doors. The Island was designed with the layout of the kitchen in mind, ensuring the space was streamlined and easy to use. This design incorporates all the modern necessities and works well with the arched windows and stained-glass windows, resulting in a contemporary classic kitchen.

The property is a Victorian mid-terrace family home in London Fields, within the Graham Road & Mapledene Conservation Area. The property is a great example of a period Victorian terraced house with some fantastic original details still in tact. Despite this the property was in poor condition and desperately needed extensive refurbishment and upgrade. As such a key objective of the brief was to overhaul the existing property, and replace all roof finishes, windows, plumbing, wiring, bathrooms, kitchen and internal fixtures & finishes. Despite the generous size of the property, an extension was required to provide a new open plan kitchen, dining and living hub. The new wraparound extension was designed to retain a large rear courtyard which had dual purpose: firstly the courtyard allowed a generous amount of daylight and natural ventilation into the new dining area, existing rear reception/ study room and the new downstairs shower room and utility zone. Secondly, as the property is end of terrace a side access from the street already existed, therefore the rear courtyard allowed a second access point at the centre of the ground floor plan. Around this entrance are located a new cloaks area, ground floor WC and shower room, together with a large utility zone providing most of the utilities and storage requirements for the property. At first floor the bathroom was reconfigured and increased in size, and the ceilings to both the bathroom and bedroom within the rear projection were vaulted, creating a much greater sense of space, and also allowing rooflights to bring greater levels of daylight and ventilation into these rooms. The property was fully refitted with new double glazed sash windows to the front and new timber composite windows to the rear. A new heating system was installed throughout, including new column radiators to all rooms, and a hot water underfloor heating system to the rear extension. The existing cellar was damp proofed and used to house the new heating system and utility room. A carefully coordinated palette of materials and standard products are then used to provide both high performance, and also a simple modern aesthetic which we believe compliments the quality and character of the period features present in the property. https://www.archea.co/section492684_746999.html
